Paddling, camping, and an introduction to whitewater

I signed up for a “Paddling camping” AMC trip back when I didn’t think there’d be an AMC 3-mi island trip. I thought, well this is better than nothing - I love camping, and I like paddling. Cool.

So seems that we signed up for a trip that’s mostly whitewater and we squeezed ourselves on. This made me a little nervous because I’ve never hung out with WW paddlers before (but it’s okay, because it turns out they’re great people too).

The group was wonderful, made a lot of good new connections, and tried out some whitewater at the very end (my camera was away on the faster parts, so no pics of that). I’m actually really glad that I signed up for it and showed up because otherwise I wouldn’t even be considering whitewater paddling next spring!
